I've been thinking about making homemade muesli for many years, but I just haven't got around to it. I imagined it would be laborious, expensive and inconvenient. I was wrong on every point! When you make your own muesli, you save money and it's fun, creative and easy! Homemade muesli tastes better too.
On this page you will find instructions on how to make homemade muesli easily!
I chose the following ingredients for my muesli:
*german nuts
*peanuts
*pumpkin seeds
*sunflower seeds
*hulled hemp seeds
*dates
*apricots
*rusinoita
* coconut oil
*honey
Working steps:
Start making the muesli by crushing the larger nuts into smaller pieces with a mortar and pestle.
Cut the apricots and dates (or other larger dry fruits) into smaller pieces.
In a large bowl, mix all the nuts and seeds. Add the melted coconut oil + honey* over low heat. Mix everything well.
*You can also add a little cinnamon, cardamom or other wonderful spices to the honey coconut paste to suit your taste.
Spread the nut mixture evenly on a baking sheet and place in the oven at approx. 100+ degrees, turning the mixture occasionally.
Check at regular intervals how the mass looks and increase/decrease the heat if necessary.
The average roasting time is about 30-60 min. until the mass is dry and crispy.
Be careful not to burn nuts!
When the nuts look roasted, take the tray out of the oven to cool and once cooled, mix together with the dry fruit.
Enjoy with vegetable milk!
Note: Homemade muesli can also be made without roasting the ingredients, as a raw version, which makes it even more nutritious.
Have a delicious autumn!
